Everything You Need in a Teleprompter for Student Videos

If your school uses Windows computers, listen up. All too often, school video production programs are forced to use equipment and software that’s designed for the pros. When this happens, students spend more time sorting through features they don’t understand than learning the concepts behind producing a newscast. The RUSHPROMPTER™ provides a simple and capable teleprompting solution that includes all the features students need at a price every school can afford.

When RUSHWORKS designed RUSHPROMPTER, the goal was to make it “powerfully simple”. For only $99, you can run RUSHPROMPTER on Windows (7, 8, 10) or use a Windows emulator on Mac, Chromebook, or other machines. It even supports duplicate and/or extended monitor displays, which means your talent and director can view the script simultaneously in real time.

The best part about RUSHPROMPTER is how easy it is to import, edit, and stylize text. With support for rich and plain text documents, you can upload or copy and paste any script into the prompter. The top toolbar has all of the features you need to change the size and color of your text. Differentiating text colors and cases is a great way to cue when the talent is reading. The editing screen also includes a Waypoint button to add simple script navigation to your text.

The prompting screen includes buttons and keyboard shortcuts to control the prompting display. Simply press the down arrow on your keyboard to make the text move slower and the up arrow to make it move faster. With the click of a button, you can change the text to all caps, mirror or flip the screen, and jump between different sections of the script.

Although RUSHPROMPTER can be used as a standalone teleprompter, it perfectly integrates with RUSHWORKS’ VNEWS Production System, a turnkey news production package that includes: a small touch screen tablet Windows computer, one or two 12” monitors for text and program display, a prompting stand, HDMI active splitters, PTZ cameras, and an optional RUSHDOLLY.

RUSHPROMPTER is great for mobile and studio productions. You can download the app on a laptop or tablet and connect it to a monitor via HDMI. For larger productions, use an HDMI splitter to send prompter video to multiple monitors on the set.

The RUSHWORKS Prompter Stand is made of lightweight PVC, so it’s easy to disassemble. That means you can take it to a football game or go from the cafeteria to the gymnasium to the news studio in a matter of minutes.

With RUSHPROMPTER your students will never miss another cue. Plus, you can create more captivating news stories when your students don’t have to stress about memorizing every word. Give your student news team a taste of real-world broadcasting with a simple teleprompting solution to teach them the tools of the trade.

You can take advantage of the free RUSHPROMPTER trial and download the full program here.
